My Crush Only Chats at Night

It’s almost funny how predictable it is. Hours of silence all day, and then suddenly at 10 p.m., they appear with:
“You awake?”

Why is it always at night?
Why not during the day?
Why not when the sun is out and everything feels open and honest?

At night, conversations feel deeper. Softer. More vulnerable. And they take advantage of that.
They tell me sweet things they won’t repeat in daylight. They open up just enough to keep me hooked, but never enough to make things clear.

Part of me thinks they only talk to me at night because that’s when they’re lonely.
Not because they truly want me.

Still… I keep answering.
Because those nighttime chats feel like the closest thing we have to something real.
